The grove at the base of the hill always caught the last of the day's color. On clear evenings, light from opposite sides would meet there—warm orange from the west, deep red from the east, and streaks of soft blue sliding in from somewhere in between. Not quite night. Not quite day. Just something in between, briefly holding everything. This is ‘Bough’
